We Are One: Kenya stands together

Yet another senseless act of violence committed, yet another story of innocent lives lost. This time though, it hit a lot closer to home; literally. Westgate Mall is about one or two minutes away from my house, and just knowing how close I came to losing those I love most is terrifying. Thank God, my family and friends are okay, but my people aren't. It's humbling to see how Kenyans from all walks of life have come together in the face of this tragedy.

All I can ask you to do right now is to pray for those affected and all their families. We have created a group on Facebook for Kenyans who are in the US and Canada, I'll post the link below.

At times like these, it's hard being so far from home. We salute the heroes who've selflessly given their time and even their lives to the hostages and the wounded. As a nation we've lost a lot today; but we will not let them win. They tried to break us; instead we've come together as one no matter how far we may be. Today we aren't Sikh, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, etc; we are Kenyan, and we will stand together.
Najivunia kuwa mkenya!
